Manchester United are looking at Thomas Muller and Edinson Cavani as they plan for life after Robin van Persie, according to reports.

United have sanctioned the £4.7million sale of Van Persie to Turkish side Fenerbache, but are now on the lookout for more striking options.

And after the Daily Mirror said Louis van Gaal was looking for two strikers, the Daily Mail says United are focusing on Bayern's Muller and PSG ace Cavani.

A £57m bid is already said to have gone in for Muller, while £45m-rated Cavani would also cost a huge amount.

However, sealing both transfers could give United a significant edge in the title race next season, as they prepare to lock horns with Chelsea.
