6 players who could end up at Old Trafford

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Sensationally, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be Louis van Gaal's surprise striker after the odds of him moving to Manchester United were cut from 20/1 to 5/1. The Sweden captain, 33, was thought to be close to a return to Italy with AC Milan, but could yet be tempted to make his bow in English football at Old Trafford.

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema is being monitored by Louis van Gaal with the Real Madrid striker viewed by the Manchester United manager as an answer to their goalscoring problems. The 27-year-old Frenchman - who is also a target of Arsenal - would cost in the region of £40m.

Alexandre Lacazette

Manchester United's mystery striker could well be Lyon hotshot Alexandre Lacazette. The 25-year-old, who scored 29 goals in France last season, has been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs this summer.

Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani has been heavily linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with Manchester United believed to be leading the race for his signature. Cavani's representative recently revealed that his client has already had offers to join a "big club" in Europe.

Thomas Muller

Reports in Germany have claimed that Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller could follow Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United. Although Bayern are insistent he is not for sale, Louis van Gaal has not given up hope of signing the forward, who could cost up to €80m.

Harry Kane

Manchester United are still interested in signing Spurs striker Harry Kane this summer, according to reports. Kane took the Premier League by storm last season, scoring 21 goals to be voted the PFA's Young Player of the Year.
